Vapor Lock™ Concrete Admixture

Exchange Residences, Detroit, Michigan

Vapor Lock 20/20 was chosen as a critical building material for the Exchange in the Greektown neighborhood of Detroit, which showcases the first North American application of the LIFTbuild approach to high-rise construction. The 16-story residential tower includes 153 residential rental units, 12 for-sale condominiums, ground-level rental office suite, and retail space totaling 166,742 square feet.

The development features ground-floor private office space, as well as tenant amenities including a fitness room, clubroom and outdoor deck area. While rent and pricing for the apartments and condos is still to be determined, 20% of the apartments will be maintained at below-market rents for those with incomes under the median income for the area.

Specialty Products Group Vapor Lock 20/20 was used to dramatically reduce the amount of days before the Firestone Roofing System could be applied. In fact, just 12 days after the pour the first steps were applied on almost 10,000 square feet of roof deck.
