Vapor Lock™ Concrete Admixture

UNC Rex Healthcare Campus

Vapor Lock enhanced concrete was a key ingredient in this major expansion and renovation to the UNC Rex Healthcare Campus which included: a 17,000 square foot, two-story central energy plant and utility tunnel; 400-car, cast-in-place parking deck and loop road; rooftop helipad on an active emergency department; 307,000 square foot, eight-story Heart and Vascular Hospital with 127 rooms, eight cardiac catheterization labs, two operating rooms, two hybrid operating rooms, a café, cardiac rehabilitation and conference center; and an interior courtyard enclosed by the Heart and Vascular Hospital.

Vapor Lock concrete admixture was chosen for its ability to prevent moisture related flooring failures and other issues, in addition to its unprecedented warranted underwritten by Lloyds of London. These benefits make VaporLock the smart choice for healthcare concrete.
